Prediction table
Odds correct at time of writing, 13th October 2026.
Team news and form
Buffalo Sabres enter this matchup with a 3-3-0 record (6 points). They look to find consistency early in the year, having recently picked up a 5-3 win against Florida. Tage Thompson and William Nylander-counterparts have kept the offence moving, but defensive lapses on the road continue to challenge them.
Toronto Maple Leafs hold a 3-2-1 record (7 points) coming into their friendly home stand. After battling through a busy opening stretch—including a recent 6-3 victory over Colorado—the Leafs return to Scotiabank Arena looking to capitalize on home ice advantage.
The Sabres are missing Jason Zucker (abdomen) and Jack Rathbone. The Maple Leafs are currently navigating injuries to defenceman Christopher Tanev (upper body) and forward John Tavares (day-to-day, personal).

Why we’re backing it
Toronto returns to friendly confines at Scotiabank Arena after a demanding travel stretch, setting up a prime bounce-spot. While Buffalo possesses the offensive firepower via Tage Thompson to keep things close, the depth and top-line production of the Maple Leafs give them the clear edge on home ice. Backing the Leafs’ moneyline offers a solid foundation, while taking them on the puck line rewards a more assertive victory.
